Supervisor, Drainage (Competition #25-22)


Job Description:

Parkland County has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Supervisor, Drainage position in the Road Maintenance & Drainage Services Department. Reporting to the Manager, Drainage & Aggregate Resources, the Supervisor, Drainage is responsible for overseeing the operation, care, and maintenance of the overland drainage system throughout Parkland County. This position is responsible for the supervision and leadership of Drainage staff, coordinates work activities and plans and oversees drainage program administration. Assistance and collaboration are also required in other Road Maintenance & Drainage services as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • At least five years' experience directly related to the construction and maintenance of roadways with a minimum of two years experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of Heavy-Duty Equipment.
  • Knowledge of Stormwater regulations.
  • Leadership experience and proven ability to motivate a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.
  • Current Criminal Record Check is required prior to start of employment, completed at employee's expense.

Benefits:

The total rewards package for this position includes: A starting annual salary of $90,500 to $101,800 based on a 40-hour work week. This position will participate in an on-call rotation for Road Maintenance & Drainage operations.
