Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent will facilitate and oversee all aspects of plant and equipment maintenance. As Maintenance Manager you will support the overall objective of achieving the most efficient, effective, and economical plant operation while ensuring health and safety, food safety and quality requirements.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Provide direction and leadership through effective coaching and mentoring.
- Maintains an effective Preventive Maintenance program.
- Maintains a transparent and effective communication with Production, QA, OH&S teams at all times.
- Plan and oversee installation, maintenance and repair industrial machinery including plant equipment, piping systems, pneumatic systems, and facility structure/services.
- Provide recommendations and suggestions to address plant and equipment deficiencies or for continuous improvement through root cause analysis .
- Effectively assist in managing and controlling maintenance costs and budget.
- Maintain documents and records in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Manage equipment inventory and procurement of parts.
- Assist in the installation of Capital projects including the research of the project, cost estimates, sourcing of contractors and project timelines.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science Technologist , Journeyman/Red Seal trades certification as Millwright or Electrician.
- Supervisory experience leading a small team.
- Working knowledge with any CMMS software.
- Ability to read, follow and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings, blueprints, schematics, code requirements, service manuals and manufacturers' specifications.
- Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in project management would be an asset.
- Familiar with BRCGS protocols.
- Experience working with organized labour.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Control and troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
