Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Land Use Planning, Planning and Development, Urban Design, Environmental Science, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, or related discipline.
  • MCIP or RPP Certification would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to understand and apply Provincial and Municipal planning policies, legislation, processes, procedures, and statutory planning documents in Alberta.
  • Ability to take initiative to identify and resolve problems or conflicts.
  • Possess and exhibit strong skills in presentations to Council, community associations, and government departments as required.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, juggle multiple deadlines and tasks, and work within irregular and tight timelines.
  • Ability to attend to details while keeping big-picture goals in mind.
  • Possession of a valid class 5 driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.

Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes:

  • A starting annual salary of $82,300 to $89,000, with a maximum earning potential for this pay range of $104,200, based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
