Second Class Power Engineer - Sour Gas Plant Operator
Job Description
- Position: Second Class Power Engineer - Gas Plant Operator
- Schedule: 4on 4 off 5 man rotation 12 hour shifts
- Operation and Maintenance of Equipment: Oversee the operation and maintenance of the plant's equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and efficiency standards.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards, particularly in handling sour gas.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify, analyze, and resolve operational problems to minimize downtime and maintain continuous plant operation.
- Monitoring and Control Systems: Efficiently operate and monitor control systems and respond to system deviations or alarms.
- Maintenance Planning: Assist in planning and executing routine maintenance and outage activities to enhance plant reliability.
- Emergency Response: Actively participate in emergency response drills and real incidents, demonstrating a high level of preparedness and safety awareness.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate operational records and provide reports on plant performance and issues.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other engineers, technicians, and staff to ensure optimal plant operation.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Training and Supervision: Provide guidance and training to junior staff and ensure that team members adhere to operational best practices and safety standards.
Requirements
- Valid Second Class Power Engineer Certification as per Alberta standards.
- Previous experience in a sour gas plant or similar industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of sour gas processing and related safety hazards.
- Proficient in the use of control systems and industrial automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
