Maple Leaf Foods is hiring a
FSQA Pre-Op Technician - Contract

The Opportunity:

• Responsible for ensuring Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, and Quality Assurance Program requirements are consistently achieved
• Provide leadership at the facility with a focus on safety, cost-effectiveness, and service orientation
• Involved in Pre-op Inspections, must be able to work overnight and weekends when required
• Application deadline: April 22

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Nightly preoperational inspection of production environment
• Plan and complete TPC, ATP, and swabbing
• Track sanitation data and present findings
• Support Sanitation Team with investigations and SOP improvements
• Review and approve packaging label updates
• Conduct raw material assessments and provide feedback
• Provide guidance to Operators on blending, formulation, CCPs, and documentation

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor of Science or College Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience in technical food manufacturing preferred
• Strong understanding of Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCP's, and GMPs
• Practical experience with sanitation processes, inspections, and audits
• Intermediate to exceptional MS Office skills
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Excellent organization, planning, and attention to detail
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment under minimal supervision
• Strong time management and assertiveness skills
• Willingness to learn and teach others, self-directed, and motivated
