Job Overview:

GrizzlyTrek is currently hiring Underground Labourers for temporary contract work in Elkford, BC. Ideal candidates will be dependable, adaptable, and capable of working in confined spaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with underground operations, including material handling, equipment support, and general labour.
  • Operate tools and equipment under direction of supervisors or tradespeople.
  • Perform cleaning, maintenance, and setup of underground workspaces.
  • Follow strict safety protocols, particularly in confined spaces and low-light environments.
  • Support crews in the safe execution of daily underground tasks.
  • Report any hazards or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in confined, low-visibility spaces.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions clearly.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing underground work conditions.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Required Safety Tickets:
    • CSO or CSTS
    • Confined Space Entry & Monitor
    • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED
  • Assets:
    • Previous underground or mining labour experience
    • Demonstrated safety-first mindset and strong work ethic

Work Environment:

  • Underground job sites with exposure to noise, darkness, moisture, and limited ventilation.
  • Extended shifts possible with rotations depending on project.
  • Camp or travel accommodations may be provided for remote locations.
  • Personal Protective Equipment Required:
    • CSA-approved steel-toed boots
    • Hard hat
    • Safety glasses
    • Coveralls
    • Work gloves
    • High-visibility gear
