Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A combination of education and experience in Fire Services operations and fully certified with Safety Codes Officer – Fire Group B2, C2, NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter II, NFPA 1002 Apparatus Operator , Blue Card Command IC Certification.
  • NFPA 1042 Fire Service Instructor I, FI-210 Wildfire Cause and Origin Investigation, and ICS 300 certifications are considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of comprehensive knowledge of the National Fire Code and related codes, standards, and regulations.
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of comprehensive knowledge of Alberta's Safety Codes System and related acts, regulations, and legislated processes.
  • Ability to write technical reports, issue Orders, Refusals, and Variances in accordance with the Safety Codes Act.
  • Demonstrated ability to be professional, self-motivated, and work independently in a team environment with excellent coordination, work scheduling, and time management skills.
  • The ability to provide leadership and guidance to small teams of staff, both full-time and paid on call, in the completion of technical duties.
  • Current Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Check is required.
  • Possession of a valid class 3 with air brakes driver's license and satisfactory commercial driving record.
  • Standard First Aid Level C and CPR.

Benefits:
