Election Worker (#25-35)


Job Description

  • Presiding Deputy Returning Officer : Manages the voting station by supervising the Deputy Returning Officers , answering questions from scrutineers, maintaining control and security of the voting station, managing the vote count, and returning the ballot box, ballots and election materials to the Returning Officer.
  • Deputy Returning Officer : Assists voters with the voting process, greets, assists, and directs voters before registration, supplies ballots and voting instructions, maintains cleanliness, and assists in vote counting.
  • Election Worker Standby: Ready to fill in for PDRO or DRO roles that become vacant, performing the tasks as described for these roles if assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be available for a full-day training session approximately the end of September or beginning of October 2025.
  • Must be available to work on Election Day from approx. 8 am to 10 pm on Oct. 20, 2025.
  • Standby workers must be available to fill positions on short notice and may be provided the opportunity to work Advance Voting Station.
  • Ability to lift and transfer boxes weighing approximately 4-10 kilograms.
  • Require organizational and creativity skills to efficiently organize a voting station.
  • Must be prepared for a long day on Election Day, potentially 12–14 hours.
