Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at a mine site located near Radium Hot Springs, BC. The successful candidate will have experience working with heavy equipment and will be responsible for ensuring that our machinery operates efficiently and safely.

• Inspect Equipment: Perform regular inspections on haul trucks, bulldozers, excavators, graders, and other heavy construction equipment to assess performance and detect faults or malfunctions.
• Diagnose Issues: Use computerized and other testing equipment to accurately diagnose the extent of necessary repairs.
• Repair and Replace: Adjust equipment, repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
• Testing: Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and servicing attachments and working tools .
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentice mechanics.

• Certification: Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician Certification - On/Off Road.
• Experience:
  • Journeyperson - 3 years of experience preferred.
  • Consideration may be given to 3rd or 4th year apprentices.
• Safety-Conscious: A strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Work Schedule: Regular working hours are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required on an as-needed basis.
