- Requirements:
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent. Education in animal health, behaviour, and/or care would be an asset.
- Minimum one year of experience in animal health or behavior.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract.

Parkland County has a casual Shelter Keeper I position available with the Enforcement Services Department until approximately February 2026, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Supervisor, Court Liaison & Shelter Operations this position is responsible for regular maintenance of the shelter and general care of impounded animals. The Shelter Keeper I will document animal behaviour, assist in the impounding, release and transport of animals, and provide support for administrative duties as required.
