Our knowledgeable and dedicated BC Geomatics team is searching for a Line Locating Assistant in the Lower Mainland area. We are looking for someone with a technical background, love of exploring, working outside, and a voracious appetite for utility locating!


Requirements of the Position

  • Previous experience in Utility Locating or Surveying or other related types of work in the great outdoors.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly for the client, project, and GeoVerra requirements.
  • Commitment to respond to situations that occur outside traditional working hours.
  • Capacity to take directions and communicate effectively.
  • An understanding of utility locating methodologies is considered an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Completed training and valid tickets in First Aid and CSTS safety training is an asset.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace.
  • Previous experience locating underground utilities: Gas, Electrical, Telecommunications, Cable Coax cables, Fiber optics, water, sanitary, storm, sewer, etc. within the Lower Mainland BC would be considered as an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience of pipeline, lease and facility construction would be considered an asset.
