Planning & Development Advisor II (#25-25)


Job Description:

Parkland County has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Planning & Development Advisor II position in the Planning & Development Services department. Reporting to the Supervisor, Planning & Development Advisory Services, the Planning & Development Advisor II is responsible for providing excellent customer service skills through regular interaction with Parkland County's customer base. This position will provide timely information, and sound advice through front counter, telephone and written inquiries pertaining to land use and development processes, will intake application for current planning, development planning and safety codes and issue permits. This position will update and maintain department information in the internal database as well as across all forms of external communication and provide support to the department.

Requirements:
  • High-school Diploma and some post secondary coursework in Administration or related discipline.
  • Currently possess or able to obtain Permit Issuer Designation under Safety Codes Act.
  • 2 to 4 years of excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to and anticipate customer needs in a professional manner.
  • Strong conflict resolution, active listening, and communication skills.
  • Strong computer and data management capabilities with attention to detail and technical expertise using Microsoft Office.
  • Time management skills with the ability to effectively manage time while prioritizing a high volume of work.
  • Familiarity with applicable legislation including Safety Codes Act and Land Use Bylaw.
  • Possession of a valid class 5 driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Benefits:

A starting annual salary of $61,800 to $66,900, with a maximum earning potential of $78,300, based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
